Introduction
Canadian economy during the war was thriving; however, after the war the government loosened wartime wages and price controls as they worried the Canadian economy would crash. During the war companies produced wartime goods such as tanks and airplanes, now, after the war, they were allowed to go back to producing goods the market demanded (i.e. cars, trucks etc.) The government was taking steps in ensuring the veterans received full help in finding jobs and blending back into the civilian life. Also, at this time there was a higher demand in Canadian resources, and major construction projects attracted industry and opened jobs. In addition many Canadians, whom during the war had to go through rationing, could now spend a little bit of their own money.
